bullet Corn (makkai) kernels, coarsely grated 1/2 kg
bullet Oil 5 tbsp / 75 ml
bullet Cumin seeds (jeera) 1/2 tsp / 3 gm
bullet Onion, finely chopped 1
bullet Ginger (adrak) paste 1 1/2 tsp / 8 gm
bullet Garlic (lasan) paste 1 1/2 tsp / 8 gm
bullet Turmeric (haldi) powder 1/2 tsp / 3 gm
bullet Salt to taste
bullet Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp / 3 gm
bullet Coriander (dhaniya) powder 1 tsp / 5 gm
bullet Water 2 1/2 cups / 500 ml
bullet Cream (malai), whipped 1/2 cups / 100 ml
bullet Green coriander (hara dhaniya), chopped 1 tbsp / 15 gm
  • Heat the oil; add the cumin seeds and onions and sauté till the onions are golden brown. Add the ginger and garlic pastes. Cook until brown. Mix the turmeric powder in 1/2 cup of water. Add to the pan and cook for 5 minutes on a low flame.
  • When the mixture leaves the sides of the pan, add the corn and fry for 5 minutes. Add 2 cups of water, cover and cook on a low flame for 10-12 minutes. When the corn is tender and the liquid has almost dried, mix in the cream. Garnish with green coriander and serve.

    Cooking time: 30 min.
