bullet Tomatoes 8 (large size, should be red and firm)
bullet Mince meat 1/2 kg
bullet Ginger and garlic paste 1 tsp
bullet Red chili powder 1 tsp
bullet Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
bullet Nigella seeds (kalonji) 1/2 tsp
bullet Fenugreek seeds (methi) 8
bullet Lemons 2
bullet Onion 1 (large size, finely chopped)
bullet Salt to taste
bullet Fresh coriander 1 bunch (finely chopped)
bullet Green chilies 4 finely chopped
bullet Dalda or your choice of cooking oil 3 cups
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Add mincemeat and all the spices and cook on medium heat till all the water dries. Stir for few minutes. Remove from heat and leave to cool. Squeeze lemon juice on it. Now cut tomatoes ¼ from the top leaving 3/4 for the stuffing.
  • Remove all the pulp from the tomatoes. Stuff each with the mince meat, close each tomato carefully, either tie it with thread or seal both the sides by inserting toothpicks on its sides.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry one tomato at a time. Place tomatoes in a pan and cook further on low heat for about 10 minutes.
