bullet Yogurt 1/2 kg
bullet Gram flour 1/2 cup
bullet Red chilies 1 tsp ground
bullet Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
bullet Coriander 2 tsp ground
bullet Garlic and ginger paste 1 tbsp
bullet Green chilies 4 whole
bullet Fresh coriander leaves 1 bunch finely chopped
bullet Spring onions 4 finely chopped
bullet Curry leaves 4
bullet Salt to taste

Dumplings

bullet Gram flour 1 cup
bullet Baking soda 1/2 tsp
bullet Onions 1 finely chopped
bullet Green chilies 4 finely chopped
bullet White cumin seeds ¼ tsp
bullet Dalda or your choice of cooking oil for frying

Garnish

bullet Coriander seeds 1 tsp (roasted)
bullet Fenugreek seeds 6
bullet Red chilies 9 whole
bullet Curry leaves 7
bullet Garlic 4 cloves finely sliced
bullet Fry the above ingredients for garnishing.
  • Method for Dumplings: Mix all the ingredients together to make a fine paste. Scoop it out with a tablespoon and fry in hot oil as dumplings.
  • Method for Curry: Mix the yogurt, salt, red chilies, coriander powder, garlic and ginger paste, gram flour and 4 cups of water. Strain the mixture into a fairly large sized pan; add chopped onions, green chilies and the curry leaves. Allow the broth to cook for 10-15 minutes. Lower the heat when green chilies become tender. Add dumplings and lastly the garnish and serve hot.
