bullet Fish, Rahu or any other variety, washed, dried 500 gm
bullet Vegetable oil 1/2 tbsp / 71/2 ml
bullet Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 1/2 tsp / 1/2 gm
bullet Coriander (dhaniya) powder 2 tsp / 3 gm
bullet Cumin (jeera) seeds 1 tsp / 2 gm
bullet Turmeric (haldi) powder 1/2 tsp / 1 gm
bullet Red chilli powder 1 tsp / 2 gm
bullet Yoghurt (dahi), hung 1 cup / 180 gm
bullet Onion, medium, ground 1
bullet Ginger (adrak), 1” piece, ground 1
bullet Fenugreek (methi) leaves 1 small bunch
bullet OR
bullet Dry fenugreek leaves (kasoori methi) 1 tsp / 1/2 gm
  • Heat the oil in a pan; add the fenugreek seeds. When the seeds turn black remove them from the oil and discard. Now add the remaining ingredients and sauté till the oil separates. Add the washed fish, mix gently and cook on dum for about 15 minutes. Serve hot with steamed rice.

    Preparation time: 15 min.
    Cooking time: 20 min.
    Serves: 2-4
