1   INGREDIENTS

  • Apricots(in juice) 14 ounce can
  • Cooking apples(peeled) 1 pound
  • All purpose flour 3/4 cup
  • Butter 1/3 cup
  • Dried oats 2/3 cup
  • Superfine sugar 4 tbsp
  • Chocolate chips 2/3 cup

2   COOKING DIRECTIONS

  1. Lightly grease an overproof dish with a little butter or margarine.
  2. Drain the apricots, reserving 4 tbsp of the juice.
  3. Place the apples and apricots in the prepared ovenproof dish with the reserved apricot juice and toss to mix.
  4. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl.
  5. Cut the butter into small cubes and rub it in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  6. Stir in the dried oats, sugar, and chocolate chips.
  7. Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the apples and apricots and level the top roughly.
  8. Do not press the crumble into the fruit.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden.
  10. Serve hot or cold.
