1   INGREDIENTS

  • Chicken(boneless) 1 1/2 lb
  • Ginger Piece 1 1/2"
  • Garlic Cloves 10-12
  • Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Onions(sliced) 2
  • Tomatoes(chopped) 2
  • Chilli Powder 2 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Coconut grated 1/2 cup
  • Cloves 7-8
  • Peppercorns 7-8
  • Coriander Seeds 1 1/2 tsp
  • Cinnnamon 1"
  • Fennel Seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Cashew Nuts 7-10
  • Almonds 15-20
  • Ghee 2-3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

2   COOKING DIRECTIONS

  1. Blend ginger, garlic and yogurt to a fine paste.
  2. Heat ghee or oil in a skillet and fry the onions until golden brown.
  3. Add the yogurt paste to the onions and fry till brown.
  4. Add chilli powder and turmeric.
  5. Fry for 2 more minutes.
  6. Add the tomatoes and fry for another 4-5 minutes.
  7. Add chicken and salt.
  8. Cook under low flame for 40-45 minutes or till the chicken is cooked by covering the pan.
  9. While the chicken is being cooked, blend coconut, cloves, pepper, coriander, cinnamon, fennel and nuts to a fine paste.
  10. Add the above paste to the cooked chicken and bring to a boil.
  11. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
