Urad Daal Kay Dahi Waday - Urad daal or Mash daal dahi waday are also known as "Meethay Dahi Waday". Its is one of the most popular Ramadan recipe in South Asia. Serve it with tamarind and mint chutney.

  • White lentils flour (Urad Daal Flour/Mash daal Flour) 250 gm
  • Baking soda 1/4 tsp
  • Carom seeds 1 tsp
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida 1/2 pinch
  • Yogurt 750 gm
  • Chat spice as required
  • Dahi Wada spice as required
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Cooking oil for frying

Cooking Directions

  1. Mix baking soda, carom seeds, ginger and asafoetida in white lentils flour.

  2. Now add water in the mixture and soak for 10 to 15 Mins.

  3. Heat the cooking oil.

  4. Now add fenugreek Seeds and oil in sticky flour mixture.

  5. Form small waday of the mixture.

  6. Heat oil in a pan and fry waday in it.

  7. Add salt and sugar in sufficient water and mix.

  8. Now soak waday in this water.

  9. After 10 minutes pour yogurt over the wadas.

  10. Sprinkle chaat spice over it and serve with tamarind and mint chutney.
