  • 90 ml cake flour
  • 45 ml rice flour
  • 2.5 ml baking powder
  • 45 ml sesame seeds ( Thill)
  • 10 ml red curry paste or any other curry paste
  • 20 ml soy sauce or vinegar
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 150 ml cold water
  • 350 gr peeled prawns
  • little extra flour

Cooking Directions

  1. Mix together flour, rice flour, baking powder and sesame seeds.

  2. Using a whisk, stir in the curry paste, soy sauce, egg and water to make a thin coating batter.

  3. If a thicker paste is desired, use lesser water.

  4. Toss prawns in extra flour - dip in batter.

  5. Deep fry until golden brown.

  6. Fry on medium heat.

  7. Drain excess oil and remove from oil.

  8. Serve hot with chutneys or sauces.

  1. you can use curry powder if you like, but the quantity used in this recipe is not too strong. the curry paste gives the prawn a lovely taste.
