  • Plain Flour 300 gms
  • Salt a pinch
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon a pinch
  • Nutmeg a pinch
  • Ground pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Butter 100 gm
  • Orange 1
  • Dark brown sugar 100 gm
  • Eggs 2
  • Honey 4 tbsp
  • For Icing:
  • Sliver balls as required
  • Golden balls as required
  • Icing sugar sieved 150 gm
  • Boiling water 1, 1/2 tbsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Beat eggs well with the honey.

  2. Now combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and pepper in a bowl using a whisk until well mixed.

  3. Beat the butter and sugar well.

  4. Add the orange zest then add the flour and start kneading into a dough.

  5. Adding the beaten eggs gradually until a firm dough in formed.

  6. You may not require to use all the egg mixture.

  7. Divide dough into 2 balls or discs.

  8. keep one in the freezer while you work with the other.

  9. Preheat oven to 180 C. and prepare a baking sheet.

  10. Dust the rolling board with flour and start rolling out the dough, till 5 mm thick and then using cookie cutters cut out shapes from the dough and start setting on the baking sheet.

  11. Continue this process till all the dough is used up.

  12. Bake in a preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes until firm not brown or even golden.

  13. Transfer onto a wire rack and cool completely.

  14. For Icing: Now make the icing by mixing the boiling water with the sifted icing sugar until you have a smooth glossy glaze.

  15. Spread the glace on the cookie and finish with silver and golden balls.
