  • Channa dal / Kadalai paruppu - 1 1/2 cup
  • Frozen Spinach - 1/2 cup or fresh chopped Spinach - 1 cup
  • Red onion - 1/4 chopped
  • Green chilly - 2
  • Fennel /Sombu - 1 tsp
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch chopped
  • Salt
  • Oil for deep frying

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak the channa dal in water for 30 to 50 minutes. wash and coarsley grind it. (without adding water)

  2. Add all other ingredients to this ground dal and make it like vada and deep fry in oil until brown and crispy.

  3. Note : Fresh chopped spinach is good than the frozen one. (The frozen Spinach have more water ) If there is no other option you can try that. You can try this vada with any kind of green leaves.
