Ingredients

  • Basmati Rice(Washed) 2 cups
  • Boiling Water 2 cups
  • Tomato Juice 1 cup
  • Green Chillies 3
  • Peppercorns 5
  • Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Cinnamon Stick 1" long
  • Cloves 4
  • Ghee 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a sauce pan and saute rice for a minute.

  2. Mix tomato juice and boiling water and mix in with the rice.

  3. Add Salt. Bring to boil again, cover and let it cook till rice is done.

  4. Heat remaining ghee in a small saucepan and splutter cuimn and mustard seeds.

  5. Add remaining ingredients, mix well and add rice to it.

  6. On a low flame, mix gently.

  7. Cover for a few minutes.

  8. Serve hot.
