  • Mash lentils 2 cups (soaked in water for half hour)
  • Water 1-1/2 cup
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp
  • Garlic 5 cloves(chopped)
  • Ginger 2 inch piece(cut into julienne)
  • Whole red chilli 10-12
  • Onion 2
  • White cumin 1-1/2 tsp
  • Mint 1 cup (finely chopped)
  • Green chilli 6-7 (finely chopped)
  • All spice powder 1 pinch
  • Oil 1 tbsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat a pan and put lentils with water, cumin, oil, garlic, salt, whole red chillies, few ginger julienne and cook it till tender.

  2. When lentils done, then dish out in a bowl.

  3. For baghar: Take a pan, heat up oil.

  4. Now put onion fry it till golden bron.

  5. Put cumin, green chillies, mint and fry for 1 minute.

  6. Put baghar on lentils.

  7. Lastly garnish with ginger and sprinkle a pinch of all spice powder over it.
