  • Egg ½
  • Khoya 250 gm
  • Sugar 2 cup
  • Water as required
  • Kewra as required
  • Clarified butter as required
  • Plain flour 1 tbsp
  • Semolina (suji) 1 tbsp
  • Baking powder 1/2 tsp
  • Oil for frying

Cooking Directions

  1. Cook sugar in a pan with enough water for a syrup to form.

  2. Beat egg and add khoya and semolina to it.

  3. Mix together using your hands.

  4. Knead the mixture with baking powder and clarified butter.

  5. Make small balls.

  6. Heat oil for deep frying.

  7. Fry the balls till golden in colour.

  8. Dip the balls in sugar syrup and serve hot.

  23. New Angel, Semolina is a coarse flour, usually of wheat or maize, which is left behind when the finer flour has been sifted out. Its also used for sweets, puddings such as suji or semolina halwa. When boiled, it turns into a soft, mushy porridge.
