Spicy masala dosa is south indian's very famous snack as a kind of roll. Prepared like roti of rice and lentils' blended mixture. And stuffed with potatoes and chicken pieces. It is served with lip smacking dips in a special dosa platter to enjoy.

  • Rice 3 cups
  • White lentils 2 cup
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • For Masala:
  • Chicken 200 gm (boneless)
  • Potatoes 3 – 4 (boiled)
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Red chili 1 tbsp (crushed)
  • Black pepper ½ tsp (crushed)
  • Cumin ½ tsp (crushed)
  • Turmeric ½ tsp
  • Mustard seed ½ tsp
  • Oil 4 – 5 tbsp
  • Curry leaves as required
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Preparation for dosa mixture.

  2. Soak white lentils and rice in 3-4 cups of water overnight.

  3. Add salt to the mixture and blend.

  4. Leave the mixture at room temperature for 3 – 4 hours.

  5. The mixture for the dosa shell is ready.

  6. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves.

  7. Now add chicken and fry till the oil floats on top.

  8. Then add chopped potatoes, crushed cumin, crushed red chili, turmeric, salt, crushed black pepper and garlic paste and fry.

  9. Turn the flame off. Heat oil in a griddle.

  10. Spread the dosa mixture on the pan.

  11. Swirl in a circular motion to make a thin dosa.

  12. Spread the filling on the base of the dosa and fold.
