  • Mutton 1 lb
  • Ghee 2 tbsp
  • Curd or yoghurt 1 pint
  • Lemon 1
  • Salt to taste
  • Grind to a paste:
  • Green chillies 8
  • Green ginger 1 inch piece
  • Onion 1
  • Cloves garlic 6-8
  • Coconut 1/4
  • Poppy seeds 1 heaped tbsp
  • Bengal gram 1 tbsp
  • Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp
  • Cloves 5
  • Cinnamon 1 piece

Cooking Directions

  1. Wash the meat and cut into small pieces.

  2. Put curd, meat and salt in a saucepan and cook on a low heat till meat is tender and almost dry.

  3. Add masala paste and stir, then cover and cook for 10 minutes.

  4. Add ghee and fry till the meat turns reddish brown.

  5. Add lemon juice and serve with uppams or dosais.
