Ingredients

  • Minced meat 1 1/2 lb
  • Ground cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Onions 3 medium
  • Chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Egg 1
  • Black cardamoms 2
  • Ginger 1 inch piece
  • Cloves 3
  • Cinnamon 1 stick
  • Cloves garlic 3
  • Green chillies 3-4
  • Peppercorns 8
  • 1 Sprig curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • Coriander leaves 1 tbsp chopped
  • Tomato 1 ripe
  • Coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Slice 2 onions and garlic very fine, and chop the tomato.

  2. Grind together the chilies, ginger, 1 onion , peppercorns and chopped coriander leaves.

  3. Mix together the meat, egg, ground spices and salt.Roll mixture into balls about the size of a small egg.

  4. Heat ghee and deep fry koftas till nicely brown.

  5. Drain and keep aside.

  6. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a saucepan.

  7. Add sliced onions and remaining spices and add salt to taste.

  8. Fry for 5 minutes.

  9. Add tomato and cook spices till the ghee floats to the top, adding a little water if necessary.Put in the koftas and1 pint water and cook till the gravy thickens.
