Ingredients

  • Mutton ½ kg
  • Onion (large sliced) 1
  • Green chillies chopped 6
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Tomatoes chopped 250 gm
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp heaped
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp heaped
  • chilli powder 2 tsp heaped
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Black cumin seeds ¼ tsp
  • Black pepper ½ tsp
  • All spice ½ tsp
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  • Yogurt 2 tbsp

Cooking Directions

  1. In a pan, heat up oil.

  2. Add meat, tomatoes, salt, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, onion and cook on medium heat till meat nearly tender.

  3. Then add coriander powder, turmeric, black pepper powder, black cumin seeds, all spice and cook for 10 minutes.

  4. Now add yogurt, green chillies and fry well.

  5. Lastly add chopped coriander leaves.

  6. Delicious, aromatic peshawari karahi is ready to be served.

  1. Made this recipe with mutton and it turned out really really good. what i did differently was that i prepared the masala mixture first like any other gravy. adding the mutton after the tomatoes had become a little tender and losen their shape a little.
