Mango Lanji - A simple spicy mango fry. Mangoes sliced with skin are cooked in aromatic spices. Serve it as a side dish with roast, barbecue or grilled food.

  • Medium-sized ripe mangoes sliced lengthwise with skin 3
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds 1/4
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Aniseed 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar 3/4 cup
  • Asafoetida a pinch
  • Ghee as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat 2 tbsp ghee.

  2. Fry cumin seeds, aniseed, mustard and asafoetida.

  3. Then add mango slices.

  4. Add other dry ingredients.

  5. Cook for a few minutes.

  6. Add sugar and 1, 1/2 cups water.

  7. Cook on medium heat till well blended and thick.

  8. Serve with rice or chapatis.
