Ingredients

  • Pomfret 1 kg
  • Lemon Juice 1 lemon
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Coriander Seeds 2 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
  • Red Chillies(deseeded) 10
  • Ginger(diced) 1"
  • Garlic(diced) 4 Cloves
  • Coconut(grated) 1/4
  • Sugar 2 tsp
  • Salt And Pepper to taste
  • Tomato Puree 2 cups
  • Curee Leaves Some

Cooking Directions

  1. Make slits on the fish,rub in the lemon juice and marinate for 30 minutes.

  2. Heat the oil in a small pan,fry each separately: the coriander and cumin seeds, the red chillies,ginger,garlic and coconut.

  3. Grind altogether to make a fine paste.

  4. Rub fish with the paste and marinate for another 30-60 minutes.

  5. Stir the sugar,salt and pepper into the tomato puree and pour this onto the fish.

  6. Check the seasoning.

  7. Bake in a moderate oven till the fish is tender,about 10 minutes.

  8. Garnish with curry leaves.
