Gram flour's a very smacking snack prepared with spices, and served with yougurt, tamarind and chat masala dip. You can make these for iftar or as tea time snack also. Try a very low budget cutlets and save money with lots of taste.

  • Gram flour 250 gm
  • Water 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Baking powder ¼ tsp
  • Red pepper 1 tsp (crushed)
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp (crushed)
  • Green chili 2 (chopped)
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Oil ¼ cup
  • Chaat masala 1 tbsp
  • Tamarind paste ¼ cup
  • Yogurt 125 gm

Cooking Directions

  1. In a bowl mix together flour and 1 cup water.

  2. Also add salt, baking powder, red pepper, cumin seeds, green chili and coriander leaves.

  3. Mix well and make into batter of medium consistency.

  4. Heat oil in a frying pan, pour one spoonful of prepared batter and fry till golden brown from both the sides.

  5. Then remove from oil, soak in lukewarm water for 8 – 10 minutes.

  6. Now squeeze out the water and keep aside.

  7. In a bowl mix together chaat masala, tamarind paste, yogurt and a little salt.

  8. Also add a little water and serve with Besan ki Tikiya.
