Heat oil and fry onions till brown.Add ginger, garlic, salt, red chilli, turmeric, tomatoes and yoghurt and cook for a while.Later, add potatoes and cook well.Now add rice and 1 & 1/2 cups water.Cook rice on high flame.When water evaporates, add food colour and simmer on low flame.When the rice tenderize, add cumin, garam masala, green chillies, coriander.Garnish with almonds and browned onions and serve with raita, salad and chutney.
