This wonderful beef yakhni pulao is a wonderful pilaff recipe that is cooked in beef stock, full of flavours, it is a great treat to serve at a dinner party.

Ingredients

  • Beef 1 kg
  • Rice 1/2 kg
  • Yogurt/Curd 4 tbsp
  • Whole coriander 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seed 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp
  • Onions 2
  • Green chillies (chopped) 6
  • Garlic cloves 4
  • Ginger a piece
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Water 4 glass
  • Whole spices:(black pepper,cloves
  • cimmimun stick,brown
  • cardamom,green cardamom
  • nutmeg and mace)

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak rice for 30 minutes.

  2. Heat water in a pan put beef, cumin seed, whole coriander, all whole spices, 4 garlic cloves, 1onion  boil it and let it cook for 1 hour.

  3. After wards strain stalk and seperate beef .

  4. In a large vessel heat oil put onion and fry till brown.

  5. Now add all spices powder, cumin seed, ginger garlic paste and 2tsp salt fry it well.

  6. Put boiled beef in it and fry for a while.

  7. Add curd fry more now put rice and stalk give 2-3 boils.

  8. Cover with lid let it neal/dam on low flame.

  9. Serve with raita and salad.

  1. Assalamalaikum,I had been searching all through out the net for an authentic yakhni pulao but could not find any except for this recipe. I had seen my MIL preparing it but could not remember many of the ingredients. This recipe came at my rescue at this ID ul Adha. Thanks a lot, I tried out this recipe and it came up the same way as my MIL prepares.
