Shish Taouk - A traditional Arabic/Turkish dish. The Turkish version is served with garlic paste and rice along with vegetables. Lebanese serve it with hummus and tabbouleh salad.

  • Chicken breast pieces 2
  • Lemon 4
  • Olive oil 1 tbsp
  • Cumin powder 1/4 tsp
  • Black pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Green chili 3
  • Tomato 2
  • Onion 2
  • Capsicum 2
  • Wooden Skewers/wooden BBQ sticks as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Cut the chicken in cubes.

  2. Mix the chicken cubes with olive oil, cumin powder and salt.

  3. Now add garlic, green chili and black pepper, mix well.

  4. Leave to marinate in the refrigerator for 25 minutes.

  5. Cut the vegetables in cubes.

  6. Take out the chicken and stread the chicken, onion, tomato and capsicum on the skewers.

  7. Now grill them on a barbecue grill or grill pan while basting with oil.

  8. When ready, serve hot with steamed rice.
