Ingredients

  • Flour 3 tbsps
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Milk powder 3 tbsps
  • Aniseed 1/2 tsp
  • Soda bi-carb 1/4 tsp
  • Salt a pinch
  • Ghee for frying
  • Syrup:
  • Water 2 cups
  • Sugar 8 tbsps
  • Green cardamoms (crushed) 4
  • Kewra essence 1/8 tsp
  • Saffron a little

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil sugar, cardamoms and saffron in water for eight to ten minutes.

  2. Remove from heat and keep warm. Add a little kewra essence.

  3. Mix all the ingredients for the puras and keep aside for one hour.

  4. Heat 1 tsp. ghee on a griddle and pour one spoon of the batter

  5. into the ghee. Fry till golden brown on both sides.

  6. Plunge into the syrup and turn over remove.

  7. Arrange puras in a dish and pour the left over syrup over them.

  8. Serve slightly warm.
