Apple crumble is a simple dessert recipe loved by kids and grown ups. It is quick and easy to prepare.

  • Plain flour 300g
  • Sugar 250g
  • Butter/Margarine 200g
  • Fresh apples 3-4 medium size
  • Cinnamon powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vanilla essence a few drops (if desired)

Cooking Directions

  1. Take plain flour, add 200g sugar, and mix them well.

  2. Add butter/margarine into the above mixture, and mix well till all the butter is absorbed and form to the crumble.

  3. Peel apple and discard seeds and cut into small pieces.

  4. Take a baking tray, well greased with butter and arrange small pieces of apple at bottom of baking tray.

  5. Sprinkle remaining sugar and cinnamon powder over the apple pieces. If desired add a few drops of vanilla essence.

  6. Now cover apple base with crumble mixture, spreading it evenly into the baking tray.

  7. Place in a preheated oven 180C/350F/GAS 4 for 30-45 minutes or till the above layer turns golden brown.

  8. Remove from oven, serve when reasonably cooled. If desired can be topped up with fresh cream or custard.
