The use of soup increased in china during 6th and 7th centuries. People used to prepare various kinds of soups in cold weathers to take generally in dinner. A chef named Ling prepared Hot And Sour Soup in his small restaurant. People liked it so much that Ling became rich in no time. This is an authentic recipe of soup to serve.

  • Chicken 100 gm
  • Capsicum 1
  • Carrot 1
  • Cabbage ¼
  • Green shallots 1
  • Egg 1
  • Chicken Stock 4 cups
  • Corn flour 3 tbsp
  • Chilli garlic sauce 3 tbsp
  • Tomato ketchup 2 tbsp
  • Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder ¼ tsp
  • White pepper ¼ tsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Cut boneless chicken into very small slices and add it to chicken stock.

  2. Bring to a boil then simmer until the chicken is tender.

  3. Cut all the vegetables into julienne strips and add in to the soup.

  4. Now add all spices and sauces.

  5. Cook for 4 to 6 minutes.

  6. When it starts boiling, include corn flour (mix in water).

  7. Then beat an egg.

  8. Add half egg slowly to the soup and keep it cooking for 2 to 3 minutes.

  9. Your steamy hot and sour soup is ready.

  10. Serve with garlic bread and slices of button mushrooms.
