This is an inspired recipe of Boston Baked Beans, made with combination of beans, sausages, ketchup and blend of spices. Perfect to serve as side dish.

  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Navy Beans 2 cup
  • Sausages 100 gm
  • Onion 1 (Finely diced)
  • Salt To taste
  • Black pepper ¼ tsp (ground)
  • Dry mustard ¼ tsp (Optional)
  • Ketchup 1 cup
  • Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp
  • Brown sugar 2 tbsp

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak beans overnight in water.

  2. Simmer the beans in the same water until tender, approximately for 1 to 2 hours.

  3. Drain and reserve the liquid.

  4. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

  5. In a saucepan, add butter and onion and cook for a few minutes till the onions soften.

  6. Then add the sausages, salt, pepper, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and brown sugar.

  7. Bring the mixture to a boil and add the beans.

  8. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes on a low flame.

  9. Pour some of the reserved water from the beans liquid and bake for 20 minutes. Serve hot.
