falafel is a popular snack eaten throughout the Middle East. It is a deep fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas and is served individually with hummus as well as wrapped in pita bread to form a sandwich. Try this delicious snack and introduce a different flavor at your home.

  • White chickpeas 2 cups
  • Garlic 3 cloves
  • Fresh parsley ½ bunch
  • Oil for frying ½ liter
  • Soda ½ tsp
  • Black pepper ½ tsp
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Soak white chickpeas overnight.

  2. Add chickpeas, ¼ cup water, cloves of garlic, soda, parsley, pepper and salt in a blender.

  3. Blend all ingredients together and make small balls of chick peas.

  4. In a wok, heat oil.

  5. Add balls fry until golden brown.

  6. Falafils are ready to serve with tahina sauce.
