bullet Small turnips 11/2
bullet Ghee 90 gms
bullet Chopped onions 250 gms
bullet Ground sesame seeds 2 tbsps
bullet Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
bullet Ginger powder ¼ tsp
bullet Pepper ¼ tsp
bullet Ground cumin seeds 1 tsp
bullet Ground coriander seeds ¼ tbsp
bullet Crushed cloves of garlic 6
bullet Curd 150 gms
bullet Broken bay leaves 2
bullet Cream 4 tbsps
bullet Salt to taste
  • Peel the turnips, then heat 30 gms. ghee and fry the pricked turnips till crisp. Remove. Heat the rest of the ghee and add all the dry ingredients.
  • Stir for a few minutes, add ¼ litre water and cook again till masala is dry.
  • Then add the curd, turnips and bay leaf. Cover and cook till soft.
  • Add cream just before serving.
