bullet Whole masoor 1/2 kg
bullet Salt 11/2 tsp
bullet Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
bullet Chilli powder 1 tsp
bullet Garam masala 1 tsp
bullet Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
bullet Onion 1
bullet Oil 4 tbsps
bullet Coriander leaves
  • Add chopped onion, salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, salt and oil to the masoor, soaked in enough water and pressure cook till done.
  • Remove and cook on a low flame for 10 minutes. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Whole green gram (moong) can also be cooked in this manner.
