bullet Sweet potatoes 1/2 kg
bullet Coconut (grated) 1
bullet Cardamoms (crushed) 5
bullet Milk 1 litre
bullet Sugar 11/2 cups
bullet Khoya ¼ kg
bullet Cashewnuts 10
bullet Ghee ¼ cup
bullet Elaichi essence 1/2 tsp
  • Boil sweet potatoes, skin and mash. Add milk and cook stirring till it becomes a thick paste. Keep aside.
  • Make a syrup of sugar. When it becomes one string consistency, add the cooked sweet potato. Cook, adding the ghee every 2 minutes.
  • Add the grated coconut, crushed cardamom, essence, khoya and cook well. When it starts leaving the pan, pour into a greased thali.
  • Decorate with nuts and cut into diamond shapes and serve.
