Minced meat 450 gms
Onions 50 gms
Pepper 1/2 tsp
Ginger 1/2“ piece
Ghee 50 gms
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Green chillies (chopped) 2
Pistachios 30
Sultanas 15
Beaten egg 1
For gravy:
Onion 110 gms
Ginger 1/2“ piece
Cloves of garlic 2
Tomatoes 110 gms
Coriander seeds 1 tsp
Garam masala 1 tsp
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Cream 1/2 litre
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves a small bunch
Heat a little ghee and brown the chopped onions for the koftas. Add minced meat, ground ginger, chillies, pepper and salt.
Cook on a low flame till meat is tender and all juice has been absorbed. Cool, grind the meat to a fine paste. Add beaten egg and garam masala.
Divide the mixture into 15 parts, and fill the centre with chopped nuts and raisins. Dip these balls in beaten egg and deep fry to a golden brown.
Keep aside.
Make the gravy by putting the ground onion, ginger and garlic in a little hot ghee. Brown slightly and add chilli powder and coriander powder.
Then add chopped tomatoes and salt and garam masala. Cook well till a thick gravy is obtained. Add the koftas.
Before serving, heat koftas curry and add cream to it.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
