bullet Minced meat 450 gms
bullet Onions 50 gms
bullet Pepper 1/2 tsp
bullet Ginger 1/2“ piece
bullet Ghee 50 gms
bullet Garam masala 1/2 tsp
bullet Green chillies (chopped) 2
bullet Pistachios 30
bullet Sultanas 15
bullet Beaten egg 1

For gravy:

bullet Onion 110 gms
bullet Ginger 1/2“ piece
bullet Cloves of garlic 2
bullet Tomatoes 110 gms
bullet Coriander seeds 1 tsp
bullet Garam masala 1 tsp
bullet Chilli powder 1 tsp
bullet Cream 1/2 litre
bullet Salt to taste
bullet Fresh coriander leaves a small bunch
  • Heat a little ghee and brown the chopped onions for the koftas. Add minced meat, ground ginger, chillies, pepper and salt.
  • Cook on a low flame till meat is tender and all juice has been absorbed. Cool, grind the meat to a fine paste. Add beaten egg and garam masala.
  • Divide the mixture into 15 parts, and fill the centre with chopped nuts and raisins. Dip these balls in beaten egg and deep fry to a golden brown.
  • Keep aside.
  • Make the gravy by putting the ground onion, ginger and garlic in a little hot ghee. Brown slightly and add chilli powder and coriander powder.
  • Then add chopped tomatoes and salt and garam masala. Cook well till a thick gravy is obtained. Add the koftas.
  • Before serving, heat koftas curry and add cream to it.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
