bullet Urad dal ¼ kg
bullet Chana dal ¼ kg
bullet Cloves of garlic 10
bullet Ginger 1" piece
bullet Salt 11/2 tsps
bullet Chilli powder 1 tsp
bullet Garam masala 1 tsp
bullet Turmeric powder 1 tsp
bullet Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
bullet Onion 1
bullet Oil as needed
  • Put both dals in a pressure cooker with enough water. Add ground ginger and garlic, chilli powder turmeric powder, garam masala and salt.
  • Cook till well blended and done. Heat oil and fry cumin seeds and chopped onion till brown. Pour over the prepared dal.
  • Sprinkle garam masala over and garnish with coriander before serving.
