Urad dal ¼ kg
Chana dal ¼ kg
Cloves of garlic 10
Ginger 1" piece
Salt 11/2 tsps
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Garam masala 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Onion 1
Oil as needed
Put both dals in a pressure cooker with enough water. Add ground ginger and garlic, chilli powder turmeric powder, garam masala and salt.
Cook till well blended and done. Heat oil and fry cumin seeds and chopped onion till brown. Pour over the prepared dal.
Sprinkle garam masala over and garnish with coriander before serving.
