bullet Kabuli chana ¼ kg
bullet Onions 3
bullet Tomatoes 6
bullet Pomegranate seeds (crushed finely) 2 tsps
bullet Soda bi-carb a pinch
bullet Salt to taste
bullet Ghee

Grind:

bullet Ginger 1" piece
bullet Green chillies 2
bullet Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
bullet Cloves of garlic 3
bullet Coriander seeds 1 tsp
bullet Cumin seeds 11/2 tsps
  • Soak chana with 1/2 tsp. soda bi-carb. After 10-12 hours wash out the soda well. Then pressure cook for 1/2 hour.
  • Cut onions into long, thin pieces. Heat 2 tbsps. ghee and fry to a dark brown. Add the ground masala and finely chopped tomatoes.
  • Cook well till rich in colour. Add the crushed pomegranate seeds. Stir.
  • Add chana and salt.
  • Cover and cook for another 15-20 minutes.
