bullet Chana dal 100 gms
bullet Moong dal 100 gms
bullet Ginger 1/2" piece
bullet Lemon 1
bullet Grated coconut ¼
bullet Curry and coriander leaves a few
bullet Green chillies 4
bullet Sugar 1/2 tsp
bullet Salt to taste
bullet Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
bullet Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
bullet Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
bullet Red chilli powder 1 tsp
bullet Asafoetida a pinch
bullet Juice 1 lemon
bullet Scraped coconut 1/2 cup
  • Soak the daIs for 4-5 hours. Then grind them finely and beat well. Add salt, turmeric powder, ground ginger and green chillies.
  • Steam the dough like dhokla. Then break it into small pieces with fingers. Heat oil and fry mustard seeds and cumin seeds, asafoetida, chilli powder and curry leaves.
  • Add the broken dal pieces in it and cook well. When ready, add the sugar, lime juice; and remove.
  • Add chopped coriander and grated coconut before serving.
