
- Boil
chana dal. Heat oil and brown the head of the fish (rohu)
with turmeric powder and salt. Keep aside.
- Grind
onions, ginger, garlic, cumin seeds and red chillies. Heat
ghee in a pan, put in bay leaves, fish head, salt, finely
chopped tomatoes and a little sugar.
- Add a
little water. When nearly done add the dal. Cook. When
ready, add a seasoning of whole garam masala and serve with
rice.
