bullet Pomfrets, filleted cod 500 gms
bullet Medium onion (chopped) 1
bullet Salt 2 tsps
bullet Oil as needed
bullet Turmeric powder 1 tsp
bullet Dried red chillies 3-4
bullet Rice 11/2 cups
bullet Ghee 2 tbsps
bullet Coriander leaves 1 small bunch
bullet Garam masala 11/2 tsps
bullet Lemon juice 1 tsp
bullet Oil as needed
bullet Salt 2 tsps
  • Wash and dry the fish and cut into pieces. Heat 1 tbsp. oil. Add turmeric powder, chopped coriander, chillies, garam masala and 1 tsp. salt.
  • Let it sizzle for 2-3 minutes. Then add the lemon juice and put in the pieces of fish and fry them well on both sides, so that the masala coats them.
  • When they are cooked, remove. Fry the chopped onion to a light brown, add the rice and salt and fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add 3 cups of hot water and cook till nearly done. Cook on a very low heat.
  • Let the rice cook till all water evaporates. Serve hot.
