Makhane (Lotus Seeds) ki Kheer
Sweet thickened milk
with lotus seeds.
Lotus seeds (makhane)
1 cup / 200 gm
Water 1 1/2 cups
/ 250 ml
Milk 10 cups /

Sugar 1 cup /
200 gm
Boil
the lotus seeds in the water. Leave to simmer for half an
hour. Boil the milk in a wok (kadhai). Simmer for half an
hour or till it becomes thick. Add the lotus seeds and cook
for about 5 minutes.
Add the
sugar and stir till it dissolves completely. Remove from the
fire; pour into a serving dish and chill. Note: can
also be served hot.
