Guava (Amrood) Crumble Recipe

bullet 1 kg guavas
bullet 100 g sugar
bullet 200 ml water
bullet 100 g flour
bullet 50 g sugar
bullet 40 g frozen butter, flaked
  • Peel and cut guavas in half. Scoop out the seeds. Tie guavas in a muslin cloth and boil with 100 g sugar and just enough water to make guavas soft. Remove guavas from muslin cloth and spread in an ovenproof dish.
  • Mix the flour and sugar. Rub the flaked butter in flour by hand till it resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over the guavas. Bake at gas mark 1-2 130º C – 150º C for 30 minutes or till the top is golden brown, alternatively place under the grill for a few minutes.
  • Remove and let stand for fifteen minutes.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or cream.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
