Dates (khajoor),
destoned, Cut into strips 500 gm |

Raisins (kishmish),
washed, Soaked in hot water 1 cup / 100 gm |

Tamarind (imli),
lemon-sized balls 3 |

Jaggery (gur)
11/4 cups / 250 gm |

Water 2 cups /
400 ml |

Salt to taste |

Red chilli
powder 1 tsp / 2 gm |

Cumin (jeera)
seeds, roasted, Powdered 1/2 tbsp / 3 gm |

Ginger powder
(sonth) 1 tsp / 2 gm |

- Soak
the tamarind and jaggery in water for 30 minutes. Mash the
soaked tamarind well and strain removing all the liquid and
pulp. Add salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder, and ginger
powder. Mix well. Add the dates and drained raisins; mix
well. Let it rest for 30 minutes before serving.
