 |
Pound Batter Dough
 |
200 g salted
soft butter and |
 |
175 g fine
sugar beat until smooth |
 |
1/2 teaspoon
vanilla essence add |
 |
4 eggs add one
at a time and mix |
 |
1 tablespoon
milk add and mix all until thick and creamy |
 |
200g flour and |
 |
2 teaspoons
baking powder sift into mixture and blend well. |
|

- Line a
loaf tin, measuring 28 cm, or the base of a springform,
about 23 cm in diameter, with aluminium foil, slightly
grease the lining, and dust with flour. Keep ready! Preheat
the oven! Spoon 2/3rd of the dough into the cake tin.
- Add 2
tablespoons of chocolate powder and I dessertspoon milk to
the remaining 1/3rd of the dough; mix well and spoon over
the white dough. With a fork spiral through the dough
bringing the white dough over the chocolate dough, giving it
a marble pattern.
- Bake in
medium hot oven for approx 50-60 minutes, or until fully
cooked when tested with a skewer. Cool for 10 minutes before
removing from the baking tin. To give the cake a shine, make
a little sugar syrup by mixing I tablespoon of sugar with 2
tablespoons of water, boil until thick then brush over the
cake.
